Jan Albers, Sugar Ray German Chocolate Painting #3, (2001)


The fourth weekly installment of exhibitions by gallery artists opens Saturday, May 15, with works by Jan Albers, Felipe Barbosa, Stephen Dean and Edgar Orlaineta. Repurposed from the "stuff" of everyday - attire, junk food and cosmetic products - the works on view directly implicate the body while contemplating the formal character and transformative qualities of the materials themselves. Organized in conjunction with Lee Boroson's exhibition Universal Solvent and curated by Rachel Gugelberger and Jeffrey Walkowiak, the forth installment is on view in the Penthouse Gallery through Thursday, May 20.
